Dietrich Bonhoeffer is one of my favorite men.

John Huntsman Sr. came into my office years ago and asked me, “Where are the pictures of the men you admire?”

I replied, “Why? Should I have any?”

He advised me, “Brother, you will not make it unless you study other people who inspire you.” I am forever grateful for his advice.

Bonhoeffer is one of the first people who I called a “hero” during my quest to find people who inspire me all those years ago. This painting also features quotes from Bonhoeffer that continue to inspire me to this day: “Not to stand is to stand. Not to speak is to speak. Silence in the face of evil is evil itself. God will not hold us blameless.”
